Editing: II
In order to speed up the rough cut of the video we have continued to edit outside of our media lessons. Doing this has proved helpful, on friday we had a double lesson, meaning that we had 1 hour and 40 minutes to go through our footage and begging editing it. During the lesson Jake and Jacob did the majority of editing whilst Alex and i planned the ancillary task further, including making a draft album cover (me) and a draft for the magazine advert (alex). However i also helped in looking through the raw footage to find which shots could be used, which footage needed to be cut down, and which shots should be taken out.

Editing
Since the last day of filming the editing has improved significantly, we are no longer looking for large lumps of footage to fill in gaps, instead we are choosing from a number of different angles. I feel that the outcome of the editing since the last day of filming will be much better.

Jake found this useful website showing different ways to present digipaks, as well as measurements of things such as disk size, and the size of casing.

Ancillary task: Digipak
Originally we thought that one of the ancillary tasks was to produce an album cover linked to our music video, however it is in fact a 4-sided digipak.
The current idea that we have had for this is a panoramic shot spread out over the 4 sides, of a motorway at night - one of the lyrics of the song is "Im a one way motorway". We were thinking of taking a picture when the motorway is busy - and blurring the lights. Like this -
However that may be too generic, and would leave 2 of the panels of the digipak fairly blank

Outcome
I feel that the outcome of todays filming was much better, we got about an hour of footage in what seemed a little space of time, and judging by the moods of the others, we are more confident that we have some good footage that can be used.
For the filming i focused on taking the photographs, as the last time we filmed i did not have an SD card to save them onto.
Jake was in charge of directing the majority of the shots, however i helped in parts.
Jacob concentrated on filming the shots which Jake directed, and at some points he improvised, picking up on some footage that Jake hadn't pointed out.

5th Day of filming
Although we have already overshot the deadline which we should have filmed by there is too little useable footage, and therefore we will have to film once again. The problems that we have had going into the previous days of filming include planning, lighting and placement and movement of the band members. This time we have a greater amount of planning and rather than just going and filming some shots we can think of, Jake has written up a shot by shot list, with each movement and camera angle.
Here is the link to the colour-coordinated shotlist: http://jakeclementswgsbmedia.blogspot.com/2010/03/plan-sheets.html
Filming will take place tonight at the Red Lion pub in gravesend, and this will be the final filming session that we have. If we spend too much time on this our ancillary tasks will be rushed.
