This is a short analysis of the lyrics to the song "the real damage" by Frank Turner, which are in the previous post.
The song itself is a 1st person narrative, talking about the morning after a drunken night. The lyrics suggest that he is disorientated, and barely able to remember what day it is. The chorus gives the impression that the life he is leading is leaving him friendless or that his drinking drives away the ones he cares about - "I started the night with all my friends and Iended up alone. I started out so happy now I'm hungover and down." This would be an important aspect to look into if we were to do the project on this song.
The verses show a slow progression through the day, the actions suggest that he is struggling to re adjust - "Squinting in thesadly sobering sunshine of the Sunday morninglight."
"Longing for a shower, and for clean sheets, and a charger for my phone."
By the end of the song he realises that he has infact partied for a day longer than he thought, and it is infact a monday rather than sunday leaving him in a predicament as he will have to face work "hungover and down"
